ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS StoryMaps

ArcGIS Online is a browser-based Geographic Information System (GIS).  Dartmouth students, faculty and staff have access through our sitewide license.  Works well with Google Chrome browser, Firefox, Safari. 

ArcGIS StoryMaps is a web-mapping and web-storytelling tool to mix media such as images, text, maps and video clips all in presentation-quality bloglike environment. Review the steps below to create an ArcGIS Online account, and then open up a new browser tab and navigate to  https://storymaps.arcgis.com/ 

Login  

  • Log in, using your Dartmouth NetID and password at  https://dartmouth.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html  (or use the shorter dartgo link,  dartgo.org/arcgisonline )

    • Click the “Sign In” button in the upper right corner

    • Then click the blue “Dartmouth College” button

    • An ArcGIS Online account will be provisioned for you on Dartmouth’s subscription service, with web-map capabilities and cloud storage for GIS data
