What is Study Mode and how do I use it?
Overview
Study Mode allows you to embrace Dartmouth Chat not just as a source of answers but as a learning tool. When you initiate Study Mode, Dartmouth Chat will reply interactively to your prompts with questions meant to gather information about your goals and current skill level before guiding you step-by-step through a learning experience.
How do I set up Study Mode?
To set up Study Mode, click on the Integration tool and turn on Study Mode.
When setting up Study Mode, you can also edit and customize the model instructions. This allows you to tailor the learning experience to match your preferred teaching style or specific educational goals. Click on the Options icon to open up a dialog box to customize the prompt.
What does Study Mode look like in practice?
Once you’ve set up Study Mode, you can enter a prompt as usual, but you will notice that the response is different. Instead of attempting to provide you with a clear answer (or set of potential answers), Dartmouth Chat will instead engage you with questions, guiding you through a learning process.
You can use this mode to help you (and/or your students!) not only get the right answer, but build your understanding along the way.
