How do I navigate the Dartmouth Chat webpage?

You can access Dartmouth Chat at https://chat.dartmouth.edu using your Dartmouth credentials. The resulting page includes a number of options:

Navigating the Dartmouth Chat Webpage

At its simplist, you can enter a prompt in the box marked “How can I help you today?”, click enter, and engage with the ChatBot.

The Dartmouth Chat interface provides additional tools to help direct and manage your chat experience, including:

  • Selecting your model. Different models have different capabilities and different costs. You can select more than one model to simultaneously compare the results.

  • Access your chat history. You can access your chat history, organize it, download it, and/or share it.

  • Add file or web context to your chat. You can upload your own documents and/or add materials from the web to help provide context for your chat.

  • Generate an artificial intelligence image. Some models will allow you to generate artificial intelligence images.

  • Track your available credits. While Dartmouth Chat is provided free to the Dartmouth community by Research Computing and Data Services, there are daily limits. You can mouse over this section to see exactly when your credits will renew. You can purchase additional daily credits as needed to support your project.
