How do I use the DChat Persona?

Overview  

The DChat Persona is available to turn on and off from the Integration menu. When activated, Dartmouth Chat provides a more consistent, assistant-style persona including default instructions and context.

Among other things, this Persona:

• Provides links to related tools and information, as well as general instructions for how to use available tools.
• Provides clear boundaries for what types of questions are inappropriate and what to do when confronted with challenging topics or feedback.
• Provides information about how responses should be generated and formatted to be of most utility to the user.

The DChat Persona can be customized by the user to better reflect user expectations.

Activating the DChat Persona  

Go the the Integration menu, and turn on “DChat Persona”.

Editing the Persona  

From the same Integration menu, click on the Options icon near the on/off sider for DChat Persona. You can resize the window by dragging the corner, and review and modify the text instructions there. You can always go back to “Default” to start again.
